the Olympics are the world...

Self-check ...

I've been quoted as saying that the Olympics days are numbered ... And that I believed the sheer size of something like the Games is not sustainable as our world becomes more cognizant of the expense of 'excess'.

But after a talk with a French IOC manager today, my feelings (and the power and intent that comes from my feelings) has changed.

As much as the talk with Frederic crystallized my feelings - the change has been slow to grow as I experience this Olympics - as a tree grows slowly, but with intention.

I am completely convinced that, rather than being a white elephant - or a dinosaur - as I've said previously - that the olympic Games are a precious opportunity to celebrate humanity. Yes - the main ingredient is the sport and all that supports and surrounds - but the real benefit potential is the fact that no other event on earth brings together the kind of human excellence that the Olympic Games does.

At no other time do we congregate as one world to celebrate the best we can be like this.

So we must continue ...

And - although sport is the 'heart', the capability of the organism called the Olympic Games - is really driven through its 'intelligent mind'.

What we can and will be as one earth will be so much better - if we continue to create a 'mindful' Olympic Games.

As Canada has in 2010.
