Met an artist named Rachel Thom at the athlete living room in Whistler athletes village. Amazing rendition of Cohen's Hallelujah, my Olympic anthem.

Anyway - I'm chatting with her about Molly and her singing lessons, and she says she's just been asked by Barney Bentall to play with him and Kendall Carson in Whistler! I met Kendall in Barrie as she opened with Barneys son - small world indeed. And (of course) it gets better ... I asked her - can I come down with you? Rachel says - sure. So we head into town and I carry her guitar into the hotel - meet Barney and Kendall - and then bow out graciously.

Almost done ...

Just a weekend to go. Here for two full weeks now ... Walked back from the BC Place medal ceremony. Managed to get from my assigned level 400 seat to the mosh pit. Was fun to see so many excited Canadians (mostly local) for whom this is it - their shot at standing beside the rings to get their photo taken. So many people having fun - soaking it up - revelling in what just won't last.

Passed through security with Ron Wilson tonight. He said he's loving this experience. Like my hex I put on Ovechkin, Datsuk, and Kovulchuk the other night as I walked past them, I said the same thing to Wilson.

I think you guys are in real trouble from here on in Ron!

Caught up with former paddler (and two time Olympic Champ) Cheryl Pounder, as well as Cassie Campbell, and Goalie coach and SCDSB teacher Dave Jamieson.

Had a chat with Mayor McCallion from Mississauga as she was waiting to get her access pass. Man they're tight at MCHH

As the night closed out, I happened on Pat Kennedy, who ran Ak-o-mak for years.
