Arrived at 1:30 am after a long evening of flying, sitting in Calgary, and meeting interesting people.
Got to the Van headquarters (rented house) at 1:30 am. I was graciously picked up by Leslie, the owner of the house who is heading OUT of town this am.
I am a moron - because I agreed to a con call that occurred at 7:30 am (eastern), so I managed 3 hours sleep, woke up, did the call and now I'm lying on my living room beroom air mattress (which had WAY more air when I went face down on it at 1:30).
Getting up to a rainy, crazy city. All the buzz is about 'who' will be the last to carry the flame to the couldron. My guess is the hologram of Terry Fox - which someone told me yesterday.
Personally, I'd like to see Don Cherry or Bob and Doug McKenzie do it!
Anyway - this will be the place you can check in with the goings on of my days. I'll try to write as often as I can - and send pics too.
If you are reading and following - be sure to take time to reflect on how lucky we all are to be celebrating as a Country - no matter how commercialized it is (you should SEE all the people dressed in Coca-Cola swag),or how much of a dinosaur you think a sporting event that costs 'us' billions of dollars that might have been spent on more needy people is.
