On the bus heading to Whistler. Got up a bit later than I wanted and had to rush as Greyhound said be there an hour before. For a bus ride?? Yup - the security is nuts - even at the bus station.
There are NO cars (except for residents) allowed up the Sea to Sky - its weird to see this road so empty.
Sitting with an interesting person - a 30 odd year ol woman who is a nanny. We chatted a bit and I mentioned something about paddling - She looked over and said "I paddled for Ak-o-mak".
Small world.
The ride is absolutely beautiful. I'm trying my best to get into my book, but I keep getting 'disturbed' by the scenery pictured here ...
This place really speaks to my mountain and ocean loving soul.
Whistler will be fun - I am toatlly stoked though, as engaging the world's best around climate change has been tons of fun - and very rewarding.
Last night (see photos posted) I ended up filling another Van shift at the Living Room. It was another fun night. The funny thing is that were scheduled to 'work' from 6 to 8, but the place really doesn't rock til after.then. Maybe a shift in the shifts is in order.
After my official shift, I managed to pop into the 'Athletes Store, a massive collection of souvenirs and some snacks and stuff that the athles might need. I spent a few bucks on family - and headed back to the booth.
Anyway - the night ended with my 30 minute walk up Ontario street to the little house at 8 West 22nd.
Sleep came fast.
Here we go to Whistler!
