  3. John Lennon's attribution doesn't ever seemed to have been sourced - so maybe wishful thinking?

    Fernando Sabino published his book in 1998.

    Another attribution has the playwright Carolyn
    Myers including it in her 1992 play Girl Talk (which was co-authored with Dori Appel).

    Perhaps it pre-dates them all and is lost in the mists of 'unknown'.
